What we collect, why, and how to make it stop

Last updated 29 September 2026

Buttface Meme Network is published by Koliko Ventures LLC. This page covers the newsletter and this website, and it is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

We collect one thing

Your email address, when you subscribe. The form asks for nothing else, and we don’t go looking for anything else about you.

We can tell when a bulletin is opened

Like almost every newsletter, ours contains a tiny invisible image that tells our newsletter platform when an email has been opened. The links inside are routed through the platform’s link-tracking address so it can count clicks.

We read those numbers in aggregate — which items landed and which didn’t — as editorial feedback. Nobody here is reading down a list of what you personally clicked.

If you’d rather not be counted, most mail apps let you block remote images, which stops the open count. It won’t affect your subscription.

We keep a record of contributions

If you send us a tip, point out a correction, or someone subscribes because you told them to, we keep a note of it against your subscription. Plainly: a count of what you sent, whether we used it, and roughly when.

We do this for one reason — so that we know who has actually contributed to this publication, and can recognise them. It is a short list of counts, not a profile. We are not scoring you, selling it, or using it to decide what to send you.

If you would rather we didn’t, say so at hello@buttface.meme and we’ll delete the record while leaving your subscription alone.

Tips

Anything sent to tips@buttface.meme is assumed to be something we can write about — that’s what the address is for. Who sent it is never published.

If you want something kept entirely between us, write “off the record” at the top and we’ll treat it that way.

Who else handles it

A small number of companies do the practical work of running a newsletter. Each handles your address only to do that job:

We don’t sell your address, rent it, or share it with advertisers. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

This website

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or analytics scripts. The signup form is loaded from beehiiv, and what it does is governed by beehiiv’s own privacy policy.

Where it’s kept

Your data is processed in the United States.

Leaving

Every bulletin has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and using it is all it takes.

After you leave, your address stays on a suppression list — a do-not-send list whose only purpose is to stop us emailing you again by accident. You can ask for that to be deleted too; just know that without it, we can’t guarantee you won’t be re-added if someone types your address into the form.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@buttface.meme. We’ll respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Children

The newsletter is written for adults and isn’t directed at anyone under 16. If we learn that someone under 16 has subscribed, we’ll delete their address.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects how your data is used, subscribers hear about it before it takes effect.
